Congratulations to Alicia for winning the Campbell scientific Canada prize - Eastern Snow Conference

Members of ReSEC Research Group attended the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) 56th Congress, the Canadian Geophysical Union (CGU) Annual Meeting, and the 78th Eastern Snow Conference (ESC) which were held jointly over a 6-day period, 1-3 June 2022 and continuing 6-8 June 2022. Three ReSEC members presented at the Monitoring and Modelling Cryospheric Change session co-chaired by Dr Kheyrollah Pour and Dr. Shawn Marshall, Departmental Science Advisor at Environment & Climate Change Canada.

• Gifty Attiah (PhD student): Spatial Variability of Lake Ice Thickness and Phenology on Sub-Arctic Lakes in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
• Alicia Pouw (MSc student): Evaluation of Snow Depth Derived from Ground Penetrating Radar on Canadian Subarctic Lakes
• Ariana Mansingh (Undergraduate thesis student): Projection of Lake ice thickness and Phenology under Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) Scenarios: Great Slave and Great Bear Lake, Northwest Territories

Alicia awarded the ESC Campbell Scientific Canada Prize. Campbell Scientific Canada Prize is rewarded to student research showing the most innovative use of technology in the gathering of data.
