ReSEC PI Co-published on Interdisciplinary Challenges in Advancing Lake Representation in Earth System Models
ReSEC PI has co-authored a newly published study addressing the interdisciplinary challenges in advancing lake representation in Earth system models.
The article, published in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, summarizes key findings from the seventh Lake NWP Workshop held in Milan, Italy. The workshop brought together experts from atmospheric science, limnology, hydrology, and remote sensing to discuss emerging techniques and persistent gaps in modeling lake-atmosphere interactions at both regional and global scales.
Dr. Kheyrollah Pour’s contribution reflects ReSEC’s ongoing studies in lake-climate research, particularly in improving the accuracy of lake surface temperature simulations and the integration of satellite data into hydrological and atmospheric models. The study emphasizes the urgent need for cross-disciplinary collaboration to enhance predictive capabilities in the face of accelerating climate change.
