ReSEC member participated in the NASA SnowEX 2022 - 2023 field campaign
This October, ReSEC Lab member Alicia Pouw (PhD student) had the opportunity to participate in the NASA SnowEX 2022 - 2023 field campaign. Focused on the tundra and boreal forest snow, Alicia travelled to Fairbanks, Alaska and headed north to the North Slope, where she and a group of field scientists were stationed at the Toolik Research Station. The campaign’s goal was to collect ground-based observations of the early seasonal snowpack to be used for calibration or validation of airborne and spaceborne missions; that big picture focuses on quantifying snow water equivalent.
